What are we made of?

All members of York Yeast went into a local school to enthuse school children about cell biology! We got to “build” our own cells using sweets (with some excellent models of the Golgi!) and use microscopes to look at real life cells. We got to answer lots of questions and even learnt something new - Blue Whales are made up of 100 quadrillion cells ! We all had a great time and hope that we have passed on our excitement about cell biology!
